Replacement of the brine concentration process

INOVYN wanted to associate France Evaporation with this large-scale project and is investing in a new mechanical steam recompression unit to decarbonise its solid salt production process at its Tavaux site.

INOVYN's planned investment will significantly improve the energy efficiency of Tavaux's operations by converting its brine concentration process to operate with steam generated from electricity rather than gas. This will ultimately lead to a reduction in primary energy consumption of more than 200 GWh and a reduction in CO2 emissions of more than 60,000 tonnes per year.

  • France Evaporation has been selected to supply the main equipment for the future unit, which is scheduled to start up at the end of 2023. (more information here)
