Assembly of a digestate treatment unit in Belgium

The erection of a 60,000 tons/year digestate treatment unit has started. Commissioning of the unit is expected in early 2017.

After a first unit installed in 2012, Trevi Environmental Solutions has renewed its confidence in France Evaporation placing an order for a new unit with a capacity of 60,000 tons per year.

Combining the use of a falling film evaporator and a forced circulation, the digestate is brought to a solids content of 30 %, reducing dramatically the volume to store and to spread.

From a thermal point of view, the installation of a Mechanical Vapor Recompression (VMR) combined with the valorization of the hot water from the CHP unit (Combined Heat & Power) enables to better control the energy costs.

The assembly started in September for a commissioning forecast at the beginning of 2017.
